A/B/n test statuses

An A/B/n test can be in one of five statuses, each indicating its current stage in the experiment workflow. These statuses tell you whether the A/B test can still be edited, set to live, or ended. You can open the test and view its status in the Page builder, in the right-hand pane below the test's name.

The right-hand pane displays the test status below the test's name.

A test can have one of these statuses:

  • Draft - when a test is initially created, Sitecore automatically assigns it this status. A draft test is editable.

  • Pending - this status appears after you start a test. It remains in this status until you publish the page that includes it.

  • Live - a test is in this status when it is running on the page, and any variants can potentially be shown to visitors.

  • Ended - this status appears after you end a live test. After republishing, the page will keep only the selected variant, and all visitor traffic will be redirected to it.
