Understanding components
There are several types of components available for use:
-
Code components - developers can build components in the Content Editor and save them in the content tree, under components, to be available for dragging onto a webpage in the Pages builder. You can add static content to a component using content items from Explorer or the media library. You can further configure a component using the settings available in the right-hand pane of the page builder.
-
Forms - designers can create forms in Forms to easily send data to 3rd party applications without capturing user data.
-
FEaaS components - designers can prototype components in the Component builder and stage them for use in the page builder. These components, sometimes referred to as low code components, can display static or dynamic content from any external data source. You can configure a low-code component using the settings available in the right-hand pane, and style them with the themes created in the Component builder styles. When inserting such a component prototype in a webpage, you can decide if you want to use a specific version of the component or the responsive bundle, where the version rendered on the website will depend on the screen size where the component is displayed.
-
BYOC components - developers can bring their own code (BYOC) by referencing an external code base that includes components.
All components are available in the page builder, where you can easily drag them components onto the editor canvas to add them to a webpage layout.
