Configure base templates for a data template

A template inherits sections and fields from its base templates. When there are several base templates associated with a data template, fields and sections from inherited templates are merged.

To configure the base templates for a data template:

1. In Content Editor, in the content tree, in Templates, select a data template.

2. On the Content tab, in the Data group, in the Base Template section, locate the All pane and the Selected pane.

3. In the All pane, double-click the base templates you want to configure for a data template. The base templates you double-click appear in the Selected pane.

   To remove a selected base template instead, double-click it in the Selected pane.

4. Click Save.
