The event type and event name

We recommend you use our pre-defined event types and event names. However, Sitecore Discover supports any other event name with the type specified as custom.

The following table lists available event types along with their associated event names and the type of action that will trigger them:

A user visits the order confirmation page.

A user visits the cart page.

A user visits the category page.

search

A user visits the search page.

other

A user visits any other page not listed here.

A user adds a product variation to their cart from a product, quick view, or cart page.

pdp | qview| cart

A user adds a product or variation to their wishlist from a product page, quick view, or cart page.

like

pdp | qview | cart

A user likes a product or variation from the cart page, product page, or quick view.

status

cart

The cart page is loaded or updated in some way, usually when a user visits the cart page or removes an item from their cart.

order

checkout (deprecated)

The user navigates to the checkout page before finalizing their order.

confirm

A user completes an order.

user

login

A user logs into their account.

info

A user's information is accessed or sent.

widget

click

A user clicks on a widget.

appear

A widget appears.

Note

Widget events are automatically sent when the Discover Beacon (init.js) is included on the site.
