Shared libraries
In XM Cloud Components, the library of components and styles in one project is the same for all environments. However, it is possible to share this library with other projects in your organization, and to access one that was shared by another project. When libraries are shared with you, you can import other users' component collections or replace your entire style library with one that is shared with the organization.
Share a library
To share a library:
-
In XM Cloud Components Settings, click Library sharing.
-
Turn on the switch for component collection sharing, style library sharing, or both.
While sharing is enabled, your library is available to other projects in your organization. Any changes you make to the styles and components are shared automatically.
Whenever another user begins to use your library, a copy of the library is created for their own use, and any subsequent changes you make to the shared library are not applied to copies. To access your updates, the user must obtain a new copy of your latest library.
Import a shared component library
You can import components that are either included as standard in XM Cloud Components, or shared with you from other projects in your organization.
To import a shared component library:
-
In XM Cloud Components Settings, click Shared components.
-
Click Import for the collection you want to add to your library.
This creates a copy of the components library and saves it as one of your own collections.
Replace your style library
You can replace your entire style library with one that was shared by another project in your organization.
This action permanently replaces your current library, and cannot be undone.
To replace your style library:
-
In XM Cloud Components Settings, click Shared styles.
-
Click Replace for the library you want to use.
