Convert a Claude skill to an Agentic studio skill

You can convert an existing Claude skill into a custom skill in Agentic studio. This lets you reuse your skill's instructions without recreating them from scratch.

To convert a Claude skill, you need to:

  • Use Claude to convert the existing skill instructions.
  • Create a custom skill in Agentic studio using the converted instructions.
  • Test the skill to make sure it works as expected.

Convert the skill in Claude

First, use Claude to convert your existing skill into a format supported by Agentic studio.

To convert the skill in Claude:

  1. Open Claude.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. In Customize, go to Skills and find the skill you want to convert.

  4. Copy the skill's name. For example, sitecoreai-page-creator. Find the skill you want to convert and copy its name

  5. Copy the following prompt into Claude, replacing {NAME-OF-YOURSKILL} with the name of your skill:

Rewrite this Claude Code skill so a person can paste it into the Agentic Studio skill editor. Read the existing {NAME-OF-YOURSKILL} and any references before writing.

    Return exactly three blocks:
    Name: <short title>
Description: <one line saying what the skill does and when to open it>
    Markdown:

<the full instructions to paste into the content box>

    Markdown rules:
    - Start with one H1 that matches Name. No YAML frontmatter.
    - Then: when to use it, Procedure, Output, Quality Checks.
    - Fold the important reference material into the same document under clear headings. This paste is one body.
    - Tell the agent to use bash, readFile, and writeFile. Product data is read through the Sitecore context tool.
    - Remove Claude-only instructions: the Skill tool, hooks, plugins, MCP setup, allowed-tools, model pinning, subagents, and local machine paths.
    - Leave scripts and binary assets out. If a script is required for a correct result, add a short note at the end naming it and what it did.
    - Keep the original procedure, output contract, and quality bar. Do not invent new business rules.
  6. Claude generates three sections:

    • Name - the skill's title.
    • Description - a short explanation of what the skill does and when to use it.
    • Markdown - the converted skill instructions.

Review the generated content to make sure it preserves the original workflow, includes the required sections and reference information, and removes Claude-specific instructions.

    Important

The conversion transfers skill instructions only. It does not transfer scripts, binary assets, or Claude-specific functionality. Make sure any required dependencies are available in Agentic studio.
