Delete, archive, or unarchive a task

When orchestrating a campaign in Sitecore Stream, it might be necessary to delete, archive, or unarchive tasks:

  • Delete - removes a task that is no longer needed or relevant.

  • Archive - temporarily hides a task from your workspace without permanent removal.

  • Unarchive - restores the task's visibility in the workspace, making it editable again.

Note

To delete, archive, or unarchive a task, you must have an Admin app role in Sitecore Stream or an Organization Admin or Organization Owner role in Sitecore Cloud Portal.

Delete a task

Deleting a task permanently removes the task from the Overview page. This action cannot be undone.

To delete a task:

  1. In the Stream navigation menu, click Campaigns, then open the campaign that contains the task you want to delete.

  2. On the Overview page, open the Deliverables tab, then the List tab.

  3. Find the deliverable that includes the task you want to delete, then click the task.

  4. In the right pane, click > Delete.

  5. If the task you're deleting is a dependency of another task, deleting the task will break this dependency.

In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.

After deleting, you'll be redirected to the List tab.

Archive a task

Archiving a task hides it from the Overview page without deleting it.

Important

Archived tasks are in read-only mode and are excluded from the campaign tracking metrics in My day.

To archive a task:

  1. In the Stream navigation menu, click Campaigns, then open the campaign that contains the task you want to archive.

  2. On the Overview page, open the Deliverables tab, then the List tab.

  3. Find the deliverable that includes the task you want to archive, then click the task.

  4. In the right pane, click > Archive.

  5. If the task you're archiving is a dependency of another task, archiving the task will break this dependency.

In the confirmation dialog, click Confirm archive.

After archiving, you'll be redirected to the List tab on the Overview page.

  6. Optionally, to view an archived task, go to the bottom right corner of the deliverable containing the archived task. Click the archived tasks section to expand and view the task in read-only mode. The task will appear as Archived.

Unarchive a task

Unarchiving a task restores it in the Overview page. If the task was previously a dependency of another task, this dependency will not be reinstated.

Important

If the task you want to unarchive belongs to an archived campaign, deliverable, or both, unarchive the campaign first, then unarchive the deliverable, before unarchiving the task.

To unarchive a task:

  1. In the Stream navigation menu, click Campaigns, then open the campaign that contains the task you want to unarchive.

  2. On the Overview page, open the Deliverables tab, then the List tab.

  3. Click the archived section (for example, shown with 1 task archived) to expand it in read-only mode.

  4. Click the name of the task you want to unarchive.

  5. In the right pane, click Unarchive.

  6. In the confirmation dialog, click Confirm unarchive. This restores the task to its previous state, including details like task status and assignee.

After unarchiving, you can view the task in the List tab.
