Walkthrough: Adding a brand in a different brand's search results
In Sitecore Discover, you can tackle merchandising use cases, such as cross-selling, by using multiple merchandising options in a rule. This walkthrough describes a scenario where products of Brand A are added to the results that boost the products of Brand B.

Boost products using attributes in a search results widget
On the merchandising tabs, you can quickly define rules using attributes. The rule, essentially, applies to all the slots of the widget. In the following procedure, we boost Brand B products in a search results widget.
To boost Brand B products using the attributes drop-down in a search results widget with rfkid_15 as id
:

In the Customer Engagement Console (CEC), on the menu bar, click Widgets.

On the Widgets tab, to open the search results widget with rfkid_15 as ID, click its name.

On the Widget Variations tab, click Add Variation. Enter an easy to identify name for the new variation, for example, Boosted Brand B.

Turn on the Make this as a default variation switch and click Save.

Click Save.

On the Rules tab, click Add Rule.

On the menu bar, click Merchandising.

In the left pane of the Merchandising page, click the Boost Rules tab.

Click Add attribute and in the list, click Brand.

In the operators drop-down menu, select Is.

To set the attribute value, in the text box, enter Brand B.
Pin a brand in a search results widget
To pin Brand A products in a search results widget with rfkid_15 as id
:

With the Boost Rules tab open, in the right pane, on the Products tab, to filter the list by brand, enter Brand A in the search input field.

For details and a performance analytics summary on a Brand A product, click Quick Look.

Drag a Brand A product over a slot.

Click Save.

To apply your changes, click Publish.
