Duplicate, delete, and view experiment details

This topic describes how to duplicate, delete, or view the history and setup details of an experiment in Sitecore Personalize.

Duplicate an experiment

You can duplicate an experiment when you want to create a copy and not affect the original.

To duplicate an experiment:

  1. On the experiment builder, click > Duplicate.

  2. In the Duplicate experiment dialog, enter the name of the new experiment.

  3. Click Duplicate. A copy of the experiment displays.

Delete an experiment

Before you delete an experiment, ensure that none of your colleagues want to access the experiment or create a copy of it.

To delete an experiment :

  1. On the experiment builder, click > Delete.

    Important

    When you delete an experiment, its unique ID is also deleted and can’t be reassigned to a new experiment.

  2. In the confirmation dialog, click Delete. The experiment is deleted.

View experiment history

You can view the history of an experiment to see a log of all the updates that have transpired.

To view the experiment history:

  1. On the experiment builder, click > History.

  2. In the History pane, apply any of the following filters to refine your search:

    • All users - select the name of the user who made changes to the experiment.

    • All sections - select the specific section that was edited. For example, Audience, Goals, Overview, and so on.

    • Select date range - click the Calendar icon to set the date range for the updates.

  3. Browse the list and find the update you want to view. Click next to the update's date. A new pane displays the details of that update, including the username and time the edit was made.

  4. To close the History pane, click .

View the experiment setup details

After you create or save an experiment, you can view its setup details, including name, type, status, and the last person who updated it.

To view the experiment setup details:

  1. On the experiment builder, view the following:

    Name, type, status, and details of last update displayed on the top-left of the page.
    • Name - the name of the experiment. To edit the name, click .

    • Type - the experiment type. For example, Web, Interactive, or Triggered.

    • Status - the experiment's current status, indicating if its Draft, Paused, Active, and so on.

    • Last updated by - the date and time of last save, and the username of the last person who edited the experiment.

  2. When the experiment is in any status other than draft, a status banner displays additional information.

    The status banner shows the status, the start and end dates, and the timestamp.

    For example, if the experiment is currently active, the status banner shows both the status and start date and time of the experiment. If there is a scheduled date for the experiment to stop running, the status banner also displays that end date and time. If there's no defined end date, the text Forever will be displayed.

  3. To manage additional details related to the experiment, navigate to the Details pane.
