Using the experiment list

The experiment list offers dynamic monitoring of all experiments in Sitecore Personalize. It enables quick and efficient comparison of performance metrics between experiments, eliminating the need to open each one individually for progress checks and issue identification. You can view a snapshot of the progress data, making it easier to decide which experiment to click and explore further.

This list lets you view experiments by status, namely Live, Scheduled, Draft, Paused, and Completed. To refine the list further, click Web, Interactive, or Triggered to display experiments by type.

Live experiments

This view displays a list of currently live experiments. An experiment that's currently live indicates that its personalization is now in effect and any of its variants can be shown to guests.

The list of live experiments in Sitecore Personalize

The following table describes the columns available in this view.

Column

Description

Name

The name of the experiment.

Performance

The experiment's primary goal, and a bar graph that shows the variants' performance against that goal. If an experiment has more than three variants, only the top three performing ones will be shown.

If a winner has been determined, the winning variant and its performance uplift as a percentage will be shown.

Hover your mouse over a variant on the bar graph to display its name and achieved goal value.

Note

Triggered experiments will not display this column. Any experiment that doesn't have enough data will display a value of No Data in this column. Any experiment not tracking performance will display a value of Tracking disabled in this column.

Variant Traffic

The experiment's statistical engine, whether Classic A/B testing or Optimized, and a bar graph that shows the percentage of traffic assigned to each variant.

Hover your mouse over the bar graph to display the variants and their assigned traffic percentages.

Note

Any experiment running with optimized testing will not display variant traffic comparisons in this column because traffic is dynamically assigned.

Progress

The experiment's progress based on the percentage of sessions each variant has completed out of the total required.

A variant is represented by Grey variant icon. When a variant has completed its required sessions, the icon changes to Green variant icon.

Hover your mouse over the variants to display their names and completion percentages.

Note

Any experiment running with with optimized testing does not require a specific number sessions, so its progress will not be displayed in this column.

Successful Executions

The average number of successful executions per 48 hours.

Failed Executions

The average number of failed executions per 48 hours.

Success rate

The experiment's percentage of successful executions in the last 48 hours or two days (2d). For success rates below 95%, Alert icon displays next to the percentage to draw attention to these results.

Last Updated By

The name of the user who last updated the experiment, including the date and time they modified it.

To sort this column by the last update date in descending or ascending order, click Arrow icon on the column heading.

Scheduled experiments

This view displays a list of scheduled experiments. An experiment is scheduled if it has started but is set to run at a selected future date and time.

The list of scheduled experiments in Sitecore Personalize

The following table describes the columns available in this view.

Column

Description

Name

The name of the experiment.

Scheduled Date

The time remaining until the experiment starts, up to when it stops running, unless it is set to run indefinitely.

Tags

All tags linked to the experiment.

To add a tag to the experiment, click Add tags Add tag icon. You can enter a new tag or select an existing one from the list.

To add more tags or delete a tag, click any tag in this column to display the dialog.

Last Updated By

The name of the user who last updated the experiment, including the date and time they modified it.

To sort this column by the last update date in descending or ascending order, click Arrow icon on the column heading.

Draft experiments

This view displays a list of draft experiments. When an experiment is initially created in Sitecore Personalize, it's automatically assigned a draft status.

The following table describes the columns available in this view.

Column

Description

Name

The name of the experiment.

Paused experiments

This view displays a list of paused experiments. A paused experiment means it was intentionally put on hold by a user during its scheduled run or while it was live.

The following table describes the columns available in this view.

Column

Description

Name

The name of the experiment.

Tags

The name of the user who last updated the experiment, including the date and time they modified it.

To sort this column by the last update date in descending or ascending order, click Arrow icon on the column heading.

Completed experiments

This view displays a list of completed experiments. An experiment has a completed status if its scheduled duration has elapsed, or if it was manually completed by a user.

The following table describes the columns available in this view.

Column

Description

Name

The name of the experiment.

Performance

The experiment's winning variant and its performance uplift as a percentage. If the experiment does not have a conclusive result, the column displays a value of No winning variant.

Note

Triggered experiments will not display this column. Any experiment that doesn't have enough data will display a value of No Data in this column. Any experiment not tracking performance will display a value of Tracking disabled in this column.

Required Sessions

The experiment's progress based on the percentage of sessions each variant has completed out of the total required.

A variant is represented by Grey variant icon. When a variant has completed its required sessions, the icon changes to Green variant icon.

Hover your mouse over the variants to display their names and completion percentages.

Note

Any experiment running with with optimized testing does not require a specific number sessions, so its progress will not be displayed in this column.

Completed

The experiment's completion date and the reason for its completion, such as achieving statistical significance or reaching the scheduled end date. If the experiment was completed manually, the name of the user who completed it is shown.

To sort this column by the completed date in descending or ascending order, click Arrow icon on the column heading.
