Activate a component
After generating a new component, you must activate it so it becomes available in Page builder. After designing and configuring your component in Design Studio, activation ensures that only the approved variants can be used by authors, providing a controlled and reliable editing experience.
Activation of components and variants is only available in SitecoreAI environments running on Content SDK version 2.3. If you are using an earlier version, you must save the component and variants instead.
Before you can activate a component, make sure that the component and its variants are fully designed and ready for use. This includes validating their structure and ensuring they follow the expected specifications, because unsupported or incorrect configurations can later prevent proper editing in Page builder. In addition, activated variants cannot be removed from Design Studio. To delete an activated component, contact a developer for assistance.
