Understanding the publishing job status and status details

The publishing job table provides visibility into the lifecycle of each publishing job with two set of statuses: the status of the publishing job itself and the statuses of the entities included in the publishing job.

The main publishing job status labels include:

  • Queued - the job is waiting in line to be processed.

  • Running - the job is actively publishing content.

  • Completed - the job finished successfully with no failed items. A job is marked as completed only when both the Edge cache has been cleared and the webhook execution has been sent from Experience Edge.

  • Completed with warnings - the job completed, but some items failed to publish on or deleted from Edge. A job is marked as completed with warnings only when both the Edge cache has been cleared and the webhook execution has been sent from Experience Edge.

  • Failed - the entire job failed to execute properly.

  • Canceling - the publishing job is in the process of being stopped.

  • Canceled - the job has been canceled.

For most of the publishing job statuses, the table also displays how many items fall into each category of the following entities status details:

  • Skipped - certain items were intentionally or automatically bypassed during publishing. An item is skipped when it is not available for publishing, or not in the final state of an approval workflow.

  • Published / Unpublished - indicates how many items outcome for items within a job.

  • Failed - items that failed to be either published on or deleted from Edge.

Note

In the Status details column, some items are counted twice. This is because Experience Edge reports on the publication status of the item for the presentation and for the content independently.
