1. Chat

Chat features and tools

No matter where you open chat - from the Overview page, the Chat page, or a space - you have access to the same core chat features and tools. Use these features to shape prompts, add context, select agents, attach files, and guide how AI responses are generated.

Enter a prompt

Type your question or request in natural language. You can also add more context, file attachments, or selected tools.

To submit a prompt, press Cmd + Enter (Mac) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows).

Examples:

  • Write 5 email subject lines for [Campaign]. Make one of them a little mysterious
  • Make this sound less like a corporate brochure and more like a text to a friend
  • Summarize this product update in three bullet points for executives

Select an agent

Choose a prebuilt or custom agent to handle your task. Depending on the agent, you may need to configure parameters and can optionally select items (pages, artifacts briefs, or CSV files) for the agent to act on.

Examples:

  • Select the Content Generator agent to draft marketing copy.
  • Select the Researcher to analyze emerging industry trends.
  • Select the Translator and select the target languages to localize the content.

Add context

Click Context book-open-blank-variant-outline.png to add sources that ground the AI. This helps it better understand your request and produce more relevant results. Context represents the information used to guide and inform the AI, giving you more control over how outputs are generated.

Available context sources:

Artifacts

Use previously generated artifacts as reference material. This lets you build on earlier work instead of starting over.

Examples:

  • Translate the research report (generated by the Researcher agent) into French
  • Create different social media content from the campaign brief (generated by the Brief generator agent)

Brand Kits

Select an existing brand kit to align responses with your organization’s brand knowledge, tone, and voice guidelines.

Examples:

  • Rewrite this technical product update to match our brand voice
  • Describe 3 photography styles for our next shoot that align with our brand's 'Sophisticated but Adventurous' vibe

Select skills and tools

Click Skills & Tools lightning-bolt-outline.png to give the AI additional capabilities.

Available capabilities:

Skills

Add reusable agent skills for specialized tasks. These can include custom or system skills, such as campaign planning, competitive analysis, or CSV and text extraction. Admins manage these skills in Agentic studio settings.

Examples:

  • Help me plan a campaign for the Spring launch of our new website
  • Research competitors in the DXP space using AI
  • Analyze the attached CSV and summarize the site performance

Marketer MCP

Enable agents to perform actions in SitecoreAI using natural language. This includes retrieving and managing sites, creating and updating pages, editing content, and other marketing tasks. See Marketer MCP for details.

Examples:

  • List all my sites
  • Create a new landing page

Sitecore Documentation MCP

Use official Sitecore documentation as reference material. This helps the AI give accurate, product-specific answers and cite trusted Sitecore sources.

Examples:

  • How do I create a new site collection?
  • What different components can I add to my page?

Tools

Use built-in chat tools to extend what the AI can do. Available tools include:

  • Image generation
  • Context retrieval
  • Web search
  • Artifact storage
  • Agent API tools

Examples:

  • Generate a hero image for the summer 2026 campaign
  • Search the web for latest products from my competitors

Attach a file

Click Attach files paperclip-rotated.png to add one or more files related to your request. The AI can use attached briefs, documents, or drafts to generate more accurate and tailored responses.

Examples

Upload a product brief and ask the AI to draft a launch announcement.

Paste a blog draft and request edits for clarity and tone.

Use voice input

Click Voice input microphone-outline.png to speak your prompt instead of typing it.

Examples

Can you turn this into a quick social post?

Summarize this in three key points for my team.

Select the type of model for processing

Choose a Model Type to control how AI handles your request.

  • Default - automatically selects the best model for the task.
  • Fast - optimized for speed. Best for simple requests and lightweight tasks.
  • Expert - optimized for advanced reasoning and structured thinking. Responses may take longer.

Examples

Use Fast for quick rewrites or short summaries.

Use Expert for strategic planning, structured analysis, or complex problem-solving.
