How Scrunch retrieves SitecoreAI DAM content

- Connect to Scrunch - before you can work with SitecoreAI DAM content in Scrunch Knowledge Studio, make sure your SitecoreAI DAM environment is connected to Scrunch. The connection is live if the Scrunch Knowledge Studio page displays SitecoreAI DAM ACTIVE under the page title.
This topic explains how Scrunch Knowledge Studio retrieves SitecoreAI DAM content.
Scrunch only accesses DAM content that the SitecoreAI DAM user you created for the connection can access.
Scrunch retrieves the following content types from SitecoreAI DAM:
- Content entities - structured content, such as blog posts, articles, and pages. In Scrunch, this content has the Content label.
- When you first connect SitecoreAI DAM to Scrunch, and every time you Refresh sources, Scrunch retrieves only the entity's title, the last modified date, and the links to Sitecore.
- When you generate or regenerate a knowledge document, Scrunch retrieves the full body text from the entity's content fields. HTML fields are converted to Markdown.
- DAM assets - extracted text from files such as PDF files and Microsoft Word documents. Scrunch retrieves the extracted text, not the file itself. In Scrunch, this content has the Asset label.
- When you first connect SitecoreAI DAM to Scrunch, and every time you Refresh sources, Scrunch retrieves only the asset's title or file name, the last modified date, and the links to Sitecore.
- When you generate or regenerate a knowledge document, Scrunch retrieves the full extracted text from the file.
Scrunch does not retrieve the following content types from SitecoreAI DAM:
- Images, video, and archives without extractable text.
- Scanned PDFs and other files with no text layer.
- Duplicate re-uploads of the same file. Scrunch automatically deduplicates this content.
- Assets where the extracted text exceeds the 50 MB size limit.
