Add a background to a page

You can add a background and background images to add depth and visual interest to the design of your web pages. Container components are the only type of built-in component that supports background images. However, you can also add background images to custom components.

Before you begin

  • Enable background images for components in the Content Editor by adding the _Background Image template to the data source of the component.

  • If you are using the Container component, add at least one component inside the Container component. Otherwise, the background image will not be rendered.

To add a background to a page:

  1. In the page builder Editor mode, in the left-hand pane, on the Site tree tab, click the page you want to add a component to.
  2. On the Components tab, click on a Container component and drag it onto the canvas of the page.
  3. Click on the Image element in the page. In the right-hand pane, click Content, then edit the image configuration options:
    • To add a background, in the Styling section, use the Background color and Background layout fields.
    • To add a background, in the Advanced styling section, use the Background image field.
