In a world saturated with digital content, standing out as a company can be challenging. By personalizing the pages of your website, you can provide a more engaging, efficient, and satisfying user experience, leading to improved business outcomes.

With XM Cloud you can personalize the site experience to target specific audiences, offering tailored content during a browsing session, but also across sessions for returning visitors. This ensures that visitors to your website always see content that meets their expectations and needs, turning ordinary browsing into an original and personal digital experience. 

You can build the target audience using any combination of the following conditions: 

  • Time - specific times of the day when someone visits the page.

  • Date - specific dates, months, days of the week or of the month when a user visits the page.

  • Device - the type of device (for example, mobile, desktop, tablet) and operating systems (for example, Android, iOS) used to visit your page.

  • Geography - the country, region, or state where the visitor is located when visiting the page.

  • Visit - the pages visited before or during the visit to your webpage, or the number of previous visits to your website by the same user. For example, the New or returning visitor condition can identify that a user has previously been on the site, and show content related to what they were interested in on their last visit.

  • User interaction - the referrer or UTM that led to the personalized page, or if the user is a new or returning user.

  • Point of sale – your audience has visited one or more of your websites united under the same site identifier.

After you have defined your audience, you personalize the page they will see by modifying one or more of its components. For example, you can change the content source of a component and update its content, hide another component, or replace it with another. Within each page variant, the user can choose to personalize any number of components, or keep their original version.

In addition to personalization, XM Cloud gives you real-time site and page analytics, with a performance dashboard per variant. You can also visualize the variant analytics' metrics side by side with the original. This gives you an insight into what is happening on your digital properties, and you can measure the impact of the changes you have made on a personalized page.

XM Cloud uses cookies to identify site visitors to apply personalization based on their behavior, such as the pages they viewed.

XM Cloud with Sitecore Personalize and CDP

While the embedded features of XM Cloud Personalize cover most market use cases, you can benefit using it in combination with Sitecore Personalize and CDP:

  • All the custom conditions you build in Sitecore Personalize will be available for use in XM Cloud, in addition to the conditions available out of the box.

  • You can use the data collected by CDP about your website visitors to create even more targeted audiences. For example, you can build an audience targeting website guests who have been members of your organization for over a year, to send them a special thank you message or offer for their fidelity.
