Fields
Feature availability is part of a phased rollout. Your organization may not see this functionality yet. It will become available when your environment is included in the rollout.
When you configure a search source, you choose which fields from your content library will appear in your search components, and how each field will function. SitecoreAI uses targeted content search to index data from a content template in your content library, and after the data has been ingested by your source, the Fields menu lets you transform that data into interactive elements in your search component.
The Fields menu is accessed during source creation. Use the check boxes in the Fields menu to determine each field's functionality:
-
Include - whether the field value will be visible in the search component.
-
Searchable - whether the field value can be used as a keyword for searching. If a field is marked as Searchable, when a user enters that field value as a search query, results will include content containing that field value.
-
Filterable - whether the field value can be used to narrow down search results. If a field is marked as Filterable, the field's values will appear as clickable buttons in the search component that, when clicked, will restrict search results to only content containing that field value.
Consider how users categorize your content when deciding which fields to make filterable.
