Shared libraries

In the Component builder, the collection of components and the library of styles in one project is the same for all environments. However, it is possible to share these collections and the style library with other projects in your organization, and to access one that was shared by another project. When libraries are shared with you, you can import other users' component collections or replace your entire style library with one that is shared with the organization.

Share a library

To share a library:

  1. In the Component builder's Settings, click Library sharing.

  2. Turn on the switch for component collection sharing, style library sharing, or both.

While sharing is enabled, your components collections and style library are available to other projects in your organization. Any changes you make to the styles and components are shared automatically.

Whenever another user begins to use your collections and style library, a copy of the collections or the library that is modified is created for their own use, and any subsequent changes you make to the shared collections or library are not applied to copies. To access your updates, the user must obtain a new copy of your latest collection or library.

Import a shared component collection

You can import components that are either included as standard in the Component builder, or shared with you from other projects in your organization.

To import a shared component collection:

  1. In the Component builder's Settings, click Shared components.

  2. Click Import for the collection you want to add to your library.

This creates a copy of the components collection and saves it as one of your own collections.

Replace your style library

You can replace your entire style library with one that was shared by another project in your organization.

Warning

This action permanently replaces your current library, and cannot be undone.

To replace your style library:
