Act on signals

Review opportunities

A signal can identify one or more pages related to the detected change. Signals that need your attention can include opportunities, which are AI-generated recommendations for small content updates.

For pages authored in the SitecoreAI Page builder, you can review each content update recommendation, and apply or reject it.

To review opportunities:

1. In SitecoreAI > Strategy > Signals, for a signal that needs your attention, click Act on this.

   To navigate to a different signal without going back to the Signals page, click it in the left panel.

2. On the signal detail page, review the detected change:

   The upper part of the page includes:

   • Signal summary - what changed, including the competitor, topic, AI platform, metric change, and comparison period.
   • Why this matters - how the change affects your brand's AI visibility.
   • What to do - a recommended direction for action.
   • Trend chart - shows how the relevant metric changed over time for your brand and competitors. Hover over the chart to see values for a specific date.

3. In the Take action on these opportunities section, review the pages associated with the signal. Not every page listed can be acted on. Each row shows:

   • Opportunity - the page associated with the signal.
   Important

   If an opportunity can’t be acted on, a red status message appears below the page name. For example, this can happen if:

   • SitecoreAI can’t find the page in the CMS..
   • You don't have access to the site that matches the URL.
   • The recommendation no longer matches the current page content.
   • The page URL doesn't match a site's Target hostname. SitecoreAI uses the Target hostname to map URLs received from Scrunch to SitecoreAI. If no match is found, Not managed in this workspace appears.

   • Cited response - how many AI answers cited this page before the signal's window, and how many cite it now.

   • Contribution - how much of the signal's overall metric change this page accounts for. Contribution is not calculated for every page.

   • Applied updates - the updates already applied to the page. If there are updates that can't be applied, it is marked Unmatched. See unmatched recommendations for more details.

4. For an actionable page, click Review for the page you want to update, or click Review all to go through all pages in sequence. You can also open the page in the Page builder by clicking , or open the currently published page on the web by clicking .

Apply content updates

Clicking Review opens the review page for the selected webpage. Here, you can compare the page content with the suggested changes and decide which updates to apply.

When you apply one or more updates, SitecoreAI creates a new draft version of the page in the Page builder containing the applied changes. You can continue editing, approve, and publish the page there. Nothing goes live until you publish.

Understand the review page

The upper part of the review page summarizes the signal and shows:

• Recommendations - the number of content update recommendations for the page.
• Cited response - the current number of AI responses citing the page and the projected number after applying the recommendations.
• Projected lift - the estimated improvement from the recommended updates, in percentage points.

The review page can also include these sections:

• Review recommendations - suggested changes that SitecoreAI matched to editable content on the page and can apply.
• Previously applied content changes - recommendations that were already applied to the page.
• Previously rejected content changes - recommendations that were declined.
• Unmatched - recommendations that SitecoreAI can't currently apply. See unmatched recommendations for more details.

You can do the following on this page:

• Open the page in the Page builder by clicking next to Apply all
• Preview the live page by clicking .
• Open a content block in Content mode by clicking for that block.
• To navigate to a different page in this signal without going back, click the page name in the left panel.

Apply recommended content updates

To apply recommended content updates:

1. On the review page, compare the original and suggested content side by side, then for each content block, Select the changes you want to apply.

   Caution

   AI-generated suggestions can contain inaccuracies. Review each recommendation carefully before applying it.

2. Click Apply changes to Page to apply your current selections, or click Apply all:

   • If you opened the review page via Review all, Apply all applies all updates across every page in the signal.
   • If you opened the review page via Review for a specific page, Apply all applies all updates on the current page.

   The selected content block will have a Content item updated label. SitecoreAI creates a new content version for the page. In the Page builder, you can continue editing, approve, and publish the page. Nothing goes live until you publish.

   Any updates you did not select remain listed on the review page and can still be applied.

   Note

   Applying content updates does not guarantee an immediate change in citation or mention rates. Publication timing, competitor activity, and other external factors also affect AI visibility metrics. Content update recommendations focus on improving page content and are a starting point, not a comprehensive solution for AI visibility.

Reject recommended content updates

To reject recommended content updates:

1. On the review page, compare the original and suggested content side by side, then for each content block, Select the changes you want to reject.

2. Click Reject to apply your current selection. The selected content block will have a Rejected label.

3. Click the Rejected label, then select Apply this change.

Unmatched recommendations

Some recommendations on the review page may appear under the Unmatched section. This means SitecoreAI generated a content update for the page, but the text it refers to does not match any editable field in the current version of the page. This can happen, for example, if the page was edited after the recommendation was generated.

For unmatched recommendations, you can manually apply the change directly in the Page builder or dismiss the recommendation if it is no longer relevant or you do not intend to apply it.
