Find a component in the Design studio

In the Design studio, the components are listed in the left-hand panel, and are organized into sections that correspond to the folders where they are saved in the Content Editor. The Design studio displays both the components saved for a specific site, and the components saved for all sites in the same environment. In the latter case, you can see how a component looks across all the different sites, helping you to compare them with each other.

To find and open a component in the Design studio:

  1. In the navigation menu, click Design. Then, in the left sidebar, select Components.

  2. In the top-left corner, in the drop-down menu:

    • To see the list of components as they render in all sites, click All.

    • To see the list of components as they render in one specific site, click the name of the site.

  3. Enter at least two characters in the search field. The list of components is updated to display only components with the search term in its name.

  4. Click the name of the relevant component to open it in the main window. You can see the name and description of the component and all its variants:

    • If you selected All sites, you can see how the component looks across the different sites. You can also use the Search field to see how the component renders in a specific site only.

    • If you selected a specific site, you can see the overview of this component on this site only.

  5. To see the components as tiles, click Tile view .

Alternatively, to view components as a list, click List view .

  6. To test various design configurations and content, click Open in Studio. This opens the variant in the Studio where you can experiment with different designs.

Note

The Design studio retrieves components based on each site's rendering host. If a warning icon with the mention "Component not set up" appears next to a component's name, it means either the rendering host for that site doesn't include the component, or some of its code is missing.
