Add or remove a component
In the page builder, you can work on the layout of the page by adding a component to a page, removing a component from a page, or moving and reordering components in the page. When working with the Shared layout mode switched on, the changes you are making on the layout of the page are shared with all the different versions of that page.
Add a component to a page
In the page builder, you can add a component to a page: this includes Sitecore components, SXA components, BYOC components, and forms designed in Forms.
Depending on the configuration of the page, there are different positions where you can insert a component:

In an empty placeholder

Before or after a component that is already on the page
To add a component to a page:

In the page builder, in Editor mode, on the Site tree tab, open the page you want to work on.

Click the Components tab. The left-hand pane displays the components built and staged in the Components builder, as well as the renderings built in the Content Editor that are compatible with the placeholders on the page. You can also access your own code-based components you have previously imported and registered in XM Cloud, and the forms you have designed and activated in Forms.
NoteBy default, the components are grouped according to how they are organized in the app where they were built: in collections for the Components builder and grouped as they are in the content tree of the Content Editor.

Select the component that you want to add to the page and drag it to the place on the page where you want to place it.

As you drag the component, the cursor changes to a “prohibited” icon to indicate that you cannot add the component in the current position.

When you drag the component to a compatible placeholder, the cursor changes to a green "plus" icon.

If you drag the component to a position where you can insert the component above or below a component that is already on the page, a blue tab with an arrow appears.

Release the mouse button to insert the component in the indicated position.

You can then further configure a component using the options in the right-hand pane.
When inserting a Sitecore component, you can also choose whether to insert the responsive bundle or a specific version of the component. You can also change the theme of a Sitecore component.
Move and reorder components in a webpage
You can at any time drag a component to another position on the canvas.
You can also reorder components within a placeholder by using the arrows up and down that appear on the component tab when you select a component.
Remove a component from a page
In the page builder, you can remove a component from a page in the Pages' page editor unless the component is not editable, for example components that are part of a page design or partial design.
To remove a component:
