1. Brand context

Understanding AI Discovery files from Scrunch

When you connect a brand context to your brand in Scrunch, SitecoreAI retrieves AI discoverability data for the brand and organizes it into files in the AI Discovery folder.

The files provide another way to access and use data available for your brand in Scrunch. The data is based on how your brand is configured in Scrunch, including your prompts and how they are organized by topics, tags, personas, funnel stages, and countries, as well as the competitors you track.

The generated files provide insights into your brand's visibility and performance across AI platforms, topics and prompts, audiences, competitors, and cited sources. You can view this data in Scrunch and access relevant insights from it in brand context.

The data in the AI Discovery folder is automatically refreshed daily so your brand context reflects the latest available data from Scrunch.

The default reporting window is 30 days. When comparison data is available, the current reporting period is compared with the previous reporting period.

Note

The AI Discovery folder and its files are read-only and managed by SitecoreAI. You can view the files, but you can't edit, rename, move, or delete them, or add content to the folder.

Audience, Journey, and Geography

The Audience, Journey, and Geography file shows how your brand performs across personas, stages of the buyer journey, and countries. The data is based on how prompts are configured and organized in Scrunch.

It includes:

  • Personas - performance across personas associated with your prompts, including details about configured personas.
  • Funnel stages - performance across buyer journey stages associated with your prompts.
  • Countries - performance across countries represented in the available data.

For each dimension, the file can show metrics such as presence, position, sentiment, brand and competitor citation rates, share of voice, prompts with volume, and responses.

For details about how personas, funnel stages, and countries are used with prompts, see Understanding prompt templates in Scrunch.

Citations and Sources

The Citations and Sources file shows how your brand, competitors, and other sources are cited in AI responses.

It includes:

  • Citation health - overall citation performance, including any-source, brand, and competitor citation rates and brand citation share of voice.
  • Cited competitors - tracked competitors cited in AI responses, including how often they are cited and their citation share of voice.
  • Top cited domains - the top domains cited in AI responses, including whether they belong to your brand, a competitor, or another source.
  • Brand URL citation gainers - brand-owned URLs with the largest increases in citations compared with the previous reporting period.
  • Brand URL citation decliners - brand-owned URLs with the largest decreases in citations compared with the previous reporting period.

The file also includes metrics such as distinct citing responses, citation occurrences, and Influence Score to help you understand how frequently and broadly sources are cited.

For details about citations in Scrunch, see Understanding the Citations tab in Scrunch.

Competitors

The Competitors file shows your brand's AI discoverability alongside the competitors you track in Scrunch.

It includes:

  • Competitor details - the competitors configured for your brand, including their websites.
  • Competitor presence - how often each competitor appears in relevant AI responses.
  • Share of voice - each competitor's share of visibility across your brand and tracked competitors.
  • Position - how prominently each competitor appears in AI responses.
  • Sentiment - the sentiment associated with each competitor in AI responses.
  • Prompts with volume - the number of configured prompts with response data for each competitor.

A competitor that is configured in Scrunch but doesn't appear in the observed data is shown as not observed.

For details about configuring competitors, see Setting up a successful brand configuration in Scrunch.

Overview and Platforms

The Overview and Platforms file provides an overview of your brand's AI discoverability and performance and shows how that performance varies across AI platforms and prompt modes.

It includes:

  • Overall brand - overall performance across metrics such as presence, position, sentiment, citation rates, and share of voice.
  • AI platforms - performance across the AI platforms represented in the available data.
  • Search mode - performance based on whether the AI platform can use search.
  • Branded mode - performance based on whether a prompt names your brand directly.

The file also shows the number of configured prompts with response data and the number of responses supporting the reported metrics.

For details about how Scrunch defines and calculates these metrics, see the Scrunch metrics guide.

Topics and Prompts

The Topics and Prompts file shows how your brand performs across the prompts configured in Scrunch and how those prompts are organized.

It includes:

  • Topics - performance across the topics used to organize your prompts, including presence, position, sentiment, citation rates, prompts with volume, and responses.
  • Tags - performance across tags used to label and group your prompts.
  • Zero-presence prompts - prompts that have response data but where your brand did not appear in any of the analyzed AI responses.

A configured topic that doesn't appear in the observed data is shown as not observed. This is different from a zero-presence prompt, where responses were observed but your brand's presence was measured as zero.

For details about configuring prompts, see How to add prompts in Scrunch. To learn about organizing prompts, see Topics vs. tags in Scrunch.

Understand the reported values

The files can show values for the current reporting period and comparisons with the previous reporting period. Depending on the metric, changes are shown as percentage-point changes, score changes, or comparisons between current and previous counts.

When reading the files:

  • 0 - the metric was measured and its value was zero.
  • -- - a value isn't available.
  • Not observed - an item is configured in Scrunch but wasn't present in the observed data for the reporting period.

Each file also includes information about the reporting period and the data supporting the report to help you interpret the results.
