Customize the sites dashboard

Each site you build benefits from a dashboard. This dashboard consists of widgets that relate to the site, such as analytics about engagement generated by the site, or tools for site management and for monitoring the progress of ongoing strategies. This dashboard is customizable, so you can display only the widgets you are interested in, including custom widgets available in the Sitecore Marketplace.

Only admins can customize the shared sites dashboard for a site, but all users can create a personal dashboard. You can customize the dashboard in the right-hand pane, which displays a list of all the available widgets to add to the dashboard.

To navigate between the shared and the personal dashboard, click on the right of the dashboard name.

Customize the shared dashboard

Depending on your organization's needs, an admin for the environment can customize a shared dashboard to display only the widgets that benefit them, or to reorder the widgets so that the most important insights are found at the top of the page. The changes you make affect the dashboard for this site only, but are visible to all users who have access to the site.

To customize the shared dashboard for a site:

  1. At the top right of the page, click Customize.

  2. You can customize the dashboard with the following actions:

    • To remove a widget or a section, click the cross to the right of the widget or section. The widget will appear in the Add widgets right-hand pane for later use.

    • To reorder a widget or section, use Drag and drop for the widget or section to move it to a permitted location.

    • To add a widget, click the widget in the Add widgets pane and drag it onto an authorized location on the dashboard.

    • To add a section, click Create Section in the left- or right-hand side of the dashboard, then give the section a name.

  3. Click Save.

  4. To save your personal dashboard for this site only, click This site only.

    To save the customized dashboard for all the sites of the environment, click All sites.

    To save the customized dashboard for specific sites only, click Specific sites, and in the Save changes for specific sites dialog, in the Select sites drop-down menu, click on the sites for which you want to use the customized personal dashboard for, then click Save.

Create your personal dashboard

To create a dashboard that only you can see and customize:

  1. At the top of the page, click on Create personal dashboard.

  2. You can customize the dashboard with the following actions:

  3. Click Save.

  4. To save your personal dashboard for this site only, click This site only.

    To save your personal dashboard for all the sites of the environment, click All sites.

    To save your personal dashboard for specific sites only, click Specific sites, and in the Save changes for specific sites dialog, in the Select sites drop-down menu, click on the sites for which you want to use the customized personal dashboard for, then click Save.
