Viewing the analytics
On the Sites dashboard, you can check at a glance how your audience interacts with your site or sites, as defined by the analytics identifier, with the following metrics:
-
Visitors - the number of individuals who have one or more visits to a site or page during the selected time period.
-
Average time on site - the average amount of time in minutes:seconds spent on the site or page by each visitor.
-
Visits - the total number of active visits to the website or page in the time period.
NoteA visit encompasses all the pages viewed and the actions (such as clicking links) a visitor takes from the moment they enter a website until the moment they leave. Over time, a visitor can make many visits to a website. A visit ends when the visitor manually closes the browser, or if the visit reaches the allowed period of inactivity.
-
Bounce rate - the proportion of visits that only had a single page view.
-
Top pages - the name of the top ten pages or variants that were visited across visits during the time period.
-
Operating system - the operating systems that were used to access your site.
The metrics shown are available for various time periods, from 3 hours to 1 month.

Sometimes, the Analytics widget does not show any data. There can be several reasons for the absence of data:
-
The test is live but was started less than 24 hours ago.
-
There have been no visitors to the page where the A/B test is running.
-
There has been no visit in the time period selected.
If you know there have been visits to your live site and you do not see any date, contact your Sitecore admin or open a support ticket.
Viewing additional analytics
The analytics data available on the Sites dashboard is based on analytics identifiers, which means that you see the data for all the sites that have been assigned the same identifier.
To see data for one specific site regardless of the analytics identifier:
-
In the Navigation header, click Edit in the page builder.
-
In the page builder top header, click Analyze.
In addition, the dedicated tool called Analytics lets you access additional data such as views, visits by time of day, top countries from which a visit originated, first page visited when entering the site, referrer that led to your site, and browser used to access the site.
To access Analytics and see all the metrics available for a site identifier:
-
In the Navigation header, click Analytics.
