Configure an email action for a triggered personalization

Important

Feature availability is part of a phased rollout. Your organization may not see this functionality yet. It will become available when your environment is included in the rollout.

Use the Send an email to send a personalized email when the trigger occurs and any configured conditions are met.

The email can include dynamic values from visitor and event data, such as the visitor's name or other information available when the personalization runs.

You can send an email using providers like Mailchimp Transactional or Twilio SendGrid, that you activate in SitecoreAI.

After you select a provider, choose an email template and configure the fields used to personalize the message. You can then preview the email with a test profile before you publish the personalization.

The selected email provider is responsible for delivering the email to the recipient.

Configure an email action

You can use an out of the box templates designed for Mailchimp and Twilio or add a new provider to send an email after the personalization is triggered.

To configure an email action:

  1. On the Configuration page, in the Triggered action section, click Send an email.

  2. Select an activated email provider (Mailchimp Transactional or Twilio SendGrid), or click Add provider if you haven't configured them yet using a valid API key.

  3. Select the email template you want to use.

    A preview of the template appears on the right.

  4. Review and configure the following sections as needed:

    • Required fields - review the sender email address and display name.
    • Event - optionally view the JSON for the event selected as the trigger.
    • Personalized fields - review the template fields that can use personalized values, such as firstName or an unsubscribe field.

Preview the personalized email

Use a visitor profile to see how personalized values appear in the email.

To preview the personalized email:

  1. In the Context for preview section, choose one of the following:

    • Load profile - enter a visitor's client ID or profile ID. To retrieve these IDs, use inspect mode.
    • Generate profile - use AI to generate a test profile from a natural-language prompt.

  2. If you selected Generate profile:

    • Enter a description of the profile you want to test.
    • Example: A person called John Doe
    • Click Generate.

    After the profile is loaded or generated, optionally click View JSON to review the profile data.

The email preview updates with personalized values from the selected profile.

Next steps

After the response behaves as expected, publish the triggered personalization to start it now or schedule it for later.
