Select a trigger for the personalization

Important

Feature availability is part of a phased rollout. Your organization may not see this functionality yet. It will become available when your environment is included in the rollout.

A trigger defines the event that starts the personalization. In SitecoreAI, you can use either of the following as a trigger:

You can also add filters to control which events trigger the personalization.

Select a form event trigger

Use a form event trigger when you want the personalization to run after a form event occurs.

To select a form event trigger:

  1. On the Configuration page, in the Trigger section, click Select a trigger.

  2. Select Form.

  3. Optionally, under Event filters, click Add condition to limit which form events trigger the personalization.

If you do not add a condition, every form event can trigger the personalization.

  4. Select the parameter, operator, and value for the condition.

For example: Name is equal to Subscribe.

With this condition, only form events where the form name is Subscribe trigger the personalization.

  5. To add another condition, click Add condition and repeat the steps.

Multiple conditions use an AND operator, so all conditions must be met for the personalization to trigger.

  6. Click Save.

Select a custom event trigger

Use a custom event trigger when you want the personalization to run after a custom event occurs.

To select a custom event trigger for the personalization:

  1. On the Configuration page, in the Trigger section, click Select a trigger.

  2. Select Custom Event.

  3. Under Event identifiers, select how SitecoreAI should match the custom event name, then enter the event value.

    Important

Make sure the value matches the event your organization sends to SitecoreAI. An incorrect event name can prevent the personalization from triggering.

Select one of the following matching options:

    • Equals - matches only the exact event name you specify.

      Example: ADD_CAR_RENTAL matches only ADD_CAR_RENTAL.

    • Regex - matches event names using a regular expression.

Example: ^ADD_CAR_.*$ matches any custom event whose name begins with ADD_CAR_.

    • Starts with - matches event names that begin with the specified value.

      Example: ADD_CAR_ matches ADD_CAR_RENTAL and ADD_CAR_INFO.

  4. Optionally, click Add identifier to add another event identifier. Multiple identifiers use an OR operator, so the personalization triggers when at least identifier matches.

  5. Click Save.
