Add a brief type field

Each field you add to a brief type defines a piece of information that marketers must provide or select when creating a brief based on that type.

When you add a field to a brief, it is added to all briefs that use that type.

To add a brief type field:

  1. In the navigation menu, click Strategy.

  2. In the left sidebar, select  Settings .

  3. In the left pane, select Brief types.

  4. On the Brief types page, click the brief type you want to edit.

The brief type details page opens, where you can edit the brief type fields.

  5. To add a field to the brief type, click Add field.

  6. In the right pane, either drag a field type into the Fields area, or click Add next to a field type. Fields you add become available when creating briefs from this brief type.

The following field types are available. The purpose describes how each field is used in a brief.

    Field type

    Purpose

Enter short, unformatted text. When creating a brief, you can enter content manually or generate it using the AI assistant.

    Boolean

Provide two options, such as true or false states of a check box.

    Date and time

    Timeline

    Budget

  7. To customize a field name, click the default name (for example, Text) and enter a name that describes how the field will be used in the brief (for example, Objective).

  8. Optionally, click the down arrow to expand the field details. On the Settings and AI assistance tabs, you can edit the following:

    • Help text - describe the field or provide guidance on how it should be used. This text appears below the field name.

    • AI intent - describe the field’s role in the brief to guide AI-generated content. This setting applies only when generating brief content with AI, not when entering content manually. For example, Generate two bullet lists with section headers. You can enter up to 500 characters.

    Note

Both fields are optional. If AI intent is not provided, the system may use the Help text or other available context when generating content using AI.

  9. Click Save.
