Add the Generate PDF operation

After creating the print template and the print entity generation action, you must add the Generate PDF operation. Calling this operation triggers the print entity generation action, which in turn starts the PDF generation.


To configure Content Hub, you must either be a superuser or have the necessary permissions granted to you through user group policies.

You can add the Generate PDF operation for any page component that supports it. The following procedure details how to add the operation to the Entity operations component on the asset details page, but the procedure is similar for all pages and page components.

To add the Generate PDF operation:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage cog icon.

  2. On the Manage page, click Pages.

  3. In the Pages portal, search for and click the Asset details page.

  4. Click the Layout tab, ensure custom settings are enabled by clicking Custom settings enabled, and then clicking the Entity operations component.

  5. On the EntityOperations component page, click Add operation, then click Generate PDF.

  6. Configure the Generate PDF operation display settings.

  7. Define the following operation settings:





    Print entity generation action that triggers the PDF generation, such as Print Entity Generation



    Generates a higher quality PDF


  8. Click Save.
