I'm new to Content Hub, where do I start?
Begin by logging into your Content Hub and then browse through the user guide. You can find additional training resources, including webinars and classes, on the Sitecore Learning portal.
Where do I find Content Hub version information?
Content Hub no longer uses version numbers. It now follows a continuous delivery model with updates labeled by release date. To see the current release date, on the Content Hub menu bar, click Manage
. The release date is displayed in the bottom right corner of the page.
How do I provide feedback on the documentation?
The documentation is constantly evolving to better meet the needs of our users. Please help us improve the documentation by clicking the link available at the bottom of each page.
How do I manage data models and web pages?
You manage data models and web pages using options accessed from the Manage page. This includes extending the domain model, managing the sitemap, extending Content Hub with editorial pages (for example, adding pages for brand guidelines), and building pages that allow users to display content stored in the database (such as the most recent assets for a specific brand).
Can I configure a custom viewer?
Yes. If you require a full-page preview for a file type other than those supported out of the box, you can create a pluggable preview. For information about the file types supported in media processing, see Media processing management.
How do I configure a Search component directly on the details page?
To configure a Search component directly on the details page without using a popup, you can duplicate the Search component, or use the variant page, on other pages.
What if a relation or property isn’t in my copy profile?
By default, new members use the Ignore method for draft creation and merge profiles, and the Keep method for variant profiles—unless you specify otherwise. See copy profile for more information.
Which permission do I need to use the Share via email operation?
If you select an asset that you don’t have the ShareViaEmail permission for and try to use the Share via email operation, you'll see that the Share via email operation is unavailable for all the assets in your selection. This also applies to other bulk operations.
Is soft deletion only available for assets?
Soft deletion is currently only available for assets and cannot be extended to other entity definitions. See Trash operation.
Do jobs and uploads have the same priority when restoring from cold storage?
No, when you restore from cold storage, restore renditions have the lowest priority, equal to refresh renditions, and lower than regular uploads.
Are the HTML content type and the Rich Text content type the same?
Yes. The HTML content type has been renamed Rich Text. See Content types.
Does the Don’t publish to delivery tag apply to related items?
Yes. When you tag an entity so that it is not published to delivery, this setting applies to all related items. By default, all taxonomies are published as soon as you create them. You can disable publishing for the whole taxonomy or for any specific taxonomy value. You can disable publishing for a particular taxonomy value by turning on the Don't publish to delivery switch so that the chosen value is not sent to delivery, but all related entities are.

What is the effect of enabling drafting for an entity definition?
Enabling drafts only adds relations to the schema, without security inheritance or content inheritance. As a result, there is no significant effect on the schema.
Are multiple types of variants possible?
You can customize the use cases for variants by adding a new localization operation or changing the existing operation and then selecting the fields (members) that determine the variant entity.
Does disabling variants revert any previous changes?
Disabling the feature only removes the UI components and operations that were made available for variants. Created copy profiles and configurations are unaffected. You can use them again if you re-enable variants.
Do mandatory fields affect variant operations?
No. Mandatory fields and variant operations are separate. You must complete mandatory fields to create a variant, but the value must also differ from the original to meet the operation’s requirements.
Is a variant page created automatically when I enable variants?
Yes. For more information on variant configurations, see Variants.
Is the link between variants and the original entity visible in the UI?
No. The variants search component doesn’t display this filter, even though the connection exists.
