Add product master and variant indicators

Sitecore Connect for Microsoft D365 Commerce - Content Hub can synchronize products, product masters, and product variants. By default, the connector creates product variants as variants of a product master in Sitecore Content Hub.

To show which products are masters and which are variants, you need to update the product listing and product details pages with indicators.

Update the Search component on the Products page

To update the Search component on the Products page:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage.

  2. On the Manage page, click Pages

  3. In the left pane, locate the Products page and click View child page(s) View child pages icon.

  4. In the left pane, click the Products page tab.

  5. In the MAIN ZONE, locate the Search component.

  6. Click the System settings enabled switch to set it to Custom settings enabled.

  7. Click More actions More actions icon > Edit.

Create custom indicators

To create custom indicators:

  1. On the Search component page, click the Output tab.

  2. On the Table tab, in the Indicators section, click Add indicator and select Custom indicator.

  3. In the Custom indicator dialog box, do the following:

    • From the Display format list, select Label.

    • For the Icon, leave the default icon selected.

    • For Label, enter Product Master.

    • From the Color list, select Red.

    • From the Displayed if list, select Variant (ProductToProductVariant).

      • For Role, select Parent.

      • From the list, select is not empty.

      • Click Save.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to create a custom indicator for product variants and, in the Custom indicator dialog enter the following values:

    • Display format - Label

    • Label - Product Variant

    • Color - Blue

    • From the Displayed if list, select Variant (ProductToProductVariant).

      • For the Role, select Child.

      • From the list, select is not empty.

  5. Click Save and close. The new indicators are now visible on the Products page.

Update the product detail page

To update the product detail page:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage.

  2. On the Manage page, click Pages.

  3. In the left pane, locate the Products page and click View child page(s) View child pages icon.

  4. In the left pane, locate the child Products page and click View child page(s)View child pages icon.

  5. In the left pane, click the Product details tab.

  6. On the Product details page, on the Layout tab, in the HEADER ZONE (LEFT), click the Indicators component.

  7. Click Add indicator and select Custom indicator.

  8. In the Custom indicator dialog box, enter in the following values to create the Product Master indicator:

    • Display format - Label

    • Title - Product Master

    • Color - Red

    • From the Displayed if list, select Variant (ProductToProductVariant)

      • For the Role, select Parent

      • From the list, select is not empty.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to create the product variant indicator and, in the Custom indicator dialog box, enter the following values:

    • Display format - Label

    • Title - Product Variant

    • Color - Blue

    • From the Displayed if list, select Variant (ProductToProductVariant).

      • For the Role, select Child.

      • From the list, select is not empty.

  11. Click Save and close. The new indicators are now available on the product detail page.
