1. Content Hub User

Users and licensing

Sitecore Content Hub user access and permissions are managed through four key mechanisms:

These layers work together to provide granular control—for example, a photographer user might be assigned the DAM with Content Ops module and added to specific user groups to see only their assigned tasks while maintaining minimum system permissions.

Underlining these mechanisms is a system of licenses and user seats as well as a pricing package that you are signed on to. As part of the pricing package, there are several types of users, including:

  • Power user - this is a registered user who can manage and modify DAM assets, content and content types, product, custom content, campaigns and collections, workflows and metadata. This includes the actions Create, Update, Add, Delete, Lock, Submit, Publish, and Archive. Power users can execute the same actions within Content Hub operation tools: projects, project types, workflows, tasks and task types. A user is considered a Power user if they have permission to do one or more of these activities.

  • Consumer user - this is a registered user who can view and download DAM assets, content, product, custom content, campaigns and collections. Consumer users can also share assets and grant content and asset approvals within workflow tasks. All Consumer users have permission to add and update comments. A user is considered a Consumer user if they have permission to do one or more of these activities

Note

Power users are not Superusers or Administrators.
