Custom download parameters

From the asset details page, you can create a custom rendition by clicking either of the following:

  • + Rendition in the Renditions section.

  • Download Custom download.

Where to create a custom rendition

You can then specify the following custom download parameters:

File format of the download. Which format is available depends on the type of asset.

Image and vector assets.

Crop

Crop type: Don't crop, Crop to center, Crop to a custom focal point, Smart crop, or Manual crop

Image assets.Selecting Crop to a custom focal point displays an Edit focal point button that lets you set up a focal point that is initially centered.

Dimensions

Dimension of the custom rendition: Don't resize, Custom width and height, Aspect ratio: 16:9, 4:3, or 1:1, Preset dimensions

Image assets.

Max. width

Cropped image or vector width. Numerical value + (pixels, inches, centimeters, or millimeters).

Image and vector assets.

Max. height

Cropped image or vector height. Numerical value + (pixels, inches, centimeters, or millimeters).

Image and vector assets.

Resolution(DPI)

Resolution of the custom rendition.

Image and vector assets.

Filename

Overwrites the name of the download file. If you do not provide a value, the original file name is used. To use asset properties as variables, write the property name between curly brackets ({Title}).

Save rendition

Saves the custom download as a new default rendition for the asset.

Rendition name

Name of the new rendition.

Description

Description of the new rendition.

Note

Setting a focal point does not affect other public links, custom downloads, or renditions created for the same or any other asset.

Important

A public link created for a custom rendition will not work if a new version of the rendition is uploaded or the master file changes.

Important

You cannot convert files bigger than 50Mb. Furthermore, images in a layered file format, such as .ai, .psd, or .pdn, do not offer the conversion functionality in their original format, but they auto download. However, because Preview and Thumbnail do not render in .png, these renditions support conversions.
