Set up a custom DNS

It is possible to have a custom domain that points to your Sitecore Content Hub environment. To configure this, you need to add the required CNAME entries within your Domain Name System (DNS) records. You will also need to add a CNAME record that points to the default tenant URL, for example, xyz-p-001.sitecorecontenthub.cloud.

Note

By default, Sitecore provides default SSL certificates for custom configured domains. You can, however, introduce your own SSL certificates. To do this, provide them as part of the service request.

To set up a custom DNS:

  1. Go to support.sitecore.com and log in to the Sitecore Support and Self-Service Portal.

  2. Click Create Service Requests.

  3. In the left pane, in the Catalogs drop-down list, select Content Hub and, in the Categories drop-down list, select Configuration Changes.

  4. On the Configuration Changes page, click Custom DNS Setup.

Ensure your request contains the:

  • Tenant or environment name.

  • Custom public URL.

  • Custom delivery (public links) URL.

  • The .pfx file with password. This is optional, but lets you manage the SSL certificate.

  • Preferred date and time slot to perform the activity.

Important

If Sitecore is managing your SSL certificate and you are using a restrictive Certificate Authority (CA) policy, you must add a Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) DNS record to permit Google Trust Services to issue certificates. To do this, add the following entry to your domain's CAA record: issue "pki.goog". This authorizes Google Trust Services to issue certificates for your domain.

If you do not want Google Trust Services to issue certificates, you can manage your own SSL certificates. Include a .pfx file with password in your service request.
