File storage
Because some assets – particularly archived ones – are used infrequently, Sitecore Content Hub optimizes asset storage using two tiers of Microsoft Azure blob:
-
Hot tier blob - stores frequently used files.
-
Cold tier blob - stores infrequently used files.
The Stats page displays the total sizes of files in the hot tier blob and in the cold tier blob.
When you archive an asset, the original file and its non-essential renditions are moved into the cold tier blob.
When you restore an asset, the original file and the deleted non-essential renditions are processed again and moved back into the hot tier blob.
The system automatically deletes non-essential asset renditions after a pre-configured number of days. The default value is 30 days.
