Animated GIFs
Animated GIFs are images encoded in a graphics interchange format (GIF). A GIF contains many frames sequenced in a single file. Sitecore Content Hub ingests and lets you visualize animated GIFs. You can view an animated preview of GIFs directly on the Assets page, or from a particular GIF asset details page.
To view a preview of a GIF asset on the Assets page, hover your mouse over the asset thumbnail.
To view the animated preview of a GIF:
-
On the menu bar, click Assets.
-
On the Assets page, click the GIF asset you want.
-
On the asset details page, click
on the preview image. Clicking again stops the preview and returns the GIF to the first frame. The
icon reappears.
To view a GIF asset in fullscreen mode, in the bottom-right corner of the preview, click Fullscreen .
If you specified a loop count, the GIF plays that number of times before stopping and returning to the first frame; otherwise, it loops forever.
When converting a GIF to another GIF, the background color cannot be applied.
GIF annotations and renditions
You can add annotations to GIFs, but only the first frame of the GIF is displayed.
There are four different renditions available for GIF assets. One is the default rendition, which generates static images. The other three are animated renditions, as shown in the following table:
