Create a 360 asset

A 360 degree image previewer lets you inspect all the angles of an image through rotation. It includes zoom and pan options, offering you a fully interactive experience. This is useful for quality control, for example.

In Content Hub, 360 assets are compressed file packages (ZIP or RAR) containing a combination of images captured at small rotational increments. Several image and vector file types are supported by default.

To create a 360 asset package:

  1. Take a minimum of 12 evenly spaced photos from all angles around the object.

  2. Name the image file in sequence.

    Note

If you're using numbers in your filenames, make sure you always start with a zero: for example, abc01, abc02, and so on. By default, Content Hub displays images in alphabetical order. Using a leading zero guarantees that the sequence of images is correct.

  3. Add all the images to a single folder and compress it.

  4. Upload your compressed file to Content Hub.

  5. Set the AssetType to Archive > 360° image spin.

When all the renditions have generated, you can preview the 360 asset.

Note

The images in a compressed file follow the same upload process as all other images and generate standard preview renditions.

Make sure that you have read permissions on the 360 AssetType if you want to see a rotating preview of it.
