Create rendition links

You can enable the store output feature to create rendition links for a task. In order for the rendition to appear in the Entity renditions component, you must configure that component for the corresponding entity definition (such as M.Asset).

To create rendition links:

  1. With the task selected on the visual canvas, click the Outputs tab.

  2. Turn on the Store output switch. This enables the download and display of assets through a rendition link.

  3. In the Output section, fill out the parameters.

    ParameterDescriptionMandatory
Output typeFormat of the output. Only available for processing tasks of type Run external web task.Yes
    Output nameName of the output.No
PropertyExtract clipping path tasks only have this parameter.Yes
Alternative filesMakes the renditions sticky, meaning they are neither regenerated upon refresh, nor created upon upload of an alternative file or thumbnail. No
    Important

Ensure the Convert image task name in the Parameters tab matches the output name in the Outputs tab.

    Note

For Extract video indexer data tasks, you need to configure two outputs, one for the metadata and one for the storyboard.

  4. Click New link to create a rendition link, then fill out the new link parameters.

    ParameterDescriptionMandatory
NameName of the new link. Rendition link names must be alphanumeric, and can contain periods, underscores, and hyphens, but not spaces or other special characters.Yes

    DescriptionLink description.No
Processing configurationUsed to store the conversion settings of a custom download. Do not manually update this field. No
FilenameName of the rendition file. You can write a combination of plain text and metadata variables. Each variable, which is written inside curly braces, must reference the name of either a single-line string property or an option list property that does not have multiple values, such as the original filename or the asset title. For example, {filename}-{title} results in a file called image.jpg-palagio. However, because an asset's Description is a multi-line value, using {filename}-{description} causes the second variable to be treated as literal text, resulting in a file called image.jpg-{description}.
    Note

System properties, such as id, are not supported. If needed, you can copy the value to a custom property using a trigger or a script to achieve a similar functionality.

    No
Asset mediaAsset media type of the new rendition link.No
  5. Click Save.

Important

By default, automatic reprocessing of renditions is disabled. To apply a new processing flow to the renditions of existing assets, you must first refresh those renditions.
