Create rendition links
You can enable the store output feature to create rendition links for a task. In order for the rendition to appear in the Entity renditions component, you must configure that component for the corresponding entity definition (such as M.Asset).
To create rendition links:
-
With the task selected on the visual canvas, click the Outputs tab.
-
Turn on the Store output switch. This enables the download and display of assets through a rendition link.
-
In the Output section, fill out the parameters.
Parameter Description Mandatory Output type Format of the output. Only available for processing tasks of type Run external web task. Yes Output name Name of the output. No Property Extract clipping path tasks only have this parameter. Yes Alternative files Makes the renditions sticky, meaning they are neither regenerated upon refresh, nor created upon upload of an alternative file or thumbnail. No ImportantEnsure the Convert image task name in the Parameters tab matches the output name in the Outputs tab.
NoteFor Extract video indexer data tasks, you need to configure two outputs, one for the metadata and one for the storyboard.
-
Click New link to create a rendition link, then fill out the new link parameters.
Parameter Description Mandatory Name Name of the new link. Rendition link names must be alphanumeric, and can contain periods, underscores, and hyphens, but not spaces or other special characters. Yes Label Label of the new link, shown in the user interface. Yes Intent Intended use for the rendition link. If set to None, downloads are not recorded in the reporting logs. Yes Link expiration Period of time before the link expires. Yes Required permissions Permissions required to see and access the link. No Gateway enable watermark Turns on gateway link watermarking. No Enable watermark Turns on delivery link watermarking. No Watermarks A list of any watermarks to be applied to the rendition link. No Omit watermark permission Omits watermarking on the link No Intended area of use The areas in which the link can be used. No Required gateway permissions Permissions a user needs to access the rendition through a gateway link. No Description Link description. No Processing configuration Used to store the conversion settings of a custom download. Do not manually update this field. No Filename Name of the rendition file. You can write a combination of plain text and metadata variables. Each variable, which is written inside curly braces, must reference the name of either a single-line string property or an option list property that does not have multiple values, such as the original filename or the asset title. For example, {filename}-{title} results in a file called image.jpg-palagio. However, because an asset's Description is a multi-line value, using {filename}-{description} causes the second variable to be treated as literal text, resulting in a file called image.jpg-{description}. NoteSystem properties, such as
id, are not supported. If needed, you can copy the value to a custom property using a trigger or a script to achieve a similar functionality. No Asset media Asset media type of the new rendition link. No -
Click Save.
By default, automatic reprocessing of renditions is disabled. To apply a new processing flow to the renditions of existing assets, you must first refresh those renditions.
