Template details page
The template details page gives you a complete view of the template and lets you configure it.
This page contains a template preview on the left-hand side and the following configuration tabs on the right-hand side: Details, Variables, Dynamic frames, and Triggers.
This tab contains the system details of the template. To edit these values, in the top-right corner of the tab, click Edit
.
This tab lets you configure templates for user input. You can define rules and constraints applicable to variables. Start by creating a variable in the Chili editor and then add it to your chosen template. These selected variables appear on the Design tab of the editor, letting you edit their content.
Dynamic frames
The Dynamic frames tab lets you link template image frames to Sitecore Digital Asset Management (DAM) assets and metadata.
To add a dynamic frame:
-
On the menu bar, click Publisher > Templates.
-
On the Templates page, click the template you want to add a dynamic frame to.
-
On the Dynamic frames tab, click
Dynamic frame. -
In the Dynamic frame dialog, in the Frame drop-down list, click the frame you want to link from.
-
On the Contents tab, set the following parameters:
Field
Description
Allow upload
Lets you directly upload an image to the frame.
Allow delete
Lets you remove the current image from the frame.
Add result set
Adds a set of results as alternative images. Options are Saved search, Saved selection, Collection, Asset, and Fragment.
-
Optionally, on the Mappings tab, add mappings.
-
Click Save.
On the Triggers tab, you can link template variables and frames to any Sitecore DAM entity and its associated metadata, such as Products or Brands.
If you create a trigger, there must be an existing relationship between the entity definition you use as a trigger and the M.Chili.Publication definition. When you add entities from that linked definition to a template, the template editor page exposes them for users to fill out the variables and frames.
To add a trigger:
-
On the menu bar, click Publisher > Templates.
-
On the Templates page, click the template you want to add triggers to.
-
On the template details page, on the Triggers tab, click
Trigger. -
In the Trigger dialog, in the Source relation drop-down list, click the source entity you want to use.
-
Optionally, in the Variable mappings dialog, add variable mappings.
-
Optionally, in the Frame mappings dialog, add frame mappings.
-
Click Save.
You must give linked assets a ChiliType value.
