Preview an asset

Important

If you want to zoom in on an inline preview, ensure the deep zoom option is on.

In Sitecore Content Hub, you can actively preview an asset without downloading it.

Note

When you upload a RAW file, colors in the preview image might not be the same as the original. This happens when RAW files do not have an embedded preview, causing Content Hub to generate one.

With the deep zoom functionality on the inline preview page, you can zoom in on large images with high resolution, without the usual blurring and pixelation of magnifying smaller previews of the original. This reduces the time taken to load and display an image by opening a fit-to-page image.

To preview an asset:

  1. On the menu bar, click Assets.

  2. On the Assets page, do one of the following:

    • On the asset you want to preview, click Preview preview icon and then click the image preview.

    • Click the asset you want to preview and then, on the top-left of the asset details page, click the image preview.

The following table describes the inline preview options:

Pan

When the image is magnified, this option lets you control the position of the image in the viewer.

Zoom out

Reduces the magnification level of the preview.

Zoom in

Increases the magnification level of the preview.

The following table describes quick resize actions available in preview:

Command

Description

Fit to width

Adjusts the preview magnification to fit the width of the image inside the current view.

Fit to page

Adjusts the preview magnification to fit the full image inside the current view.

Preset values(10%, 25%, 50%, and so on)

Adjusts the preview magnification level to the chosen percentage.

Marquee Zoom

Lets you draw a selection over the image preview, which then adjusts the magnification level to fit that selection inside the current view.

Note

Excel previews use the en-US locale, regardless of the locale your personal device uses. Consequently, any number or date in the Excel file appears according to the en-US locale settings.
