Example - create an image variable
In this example, you create an image variable, associate it with a frame, and expose it to the publication editors.
To create an image variable:
-
On the menu bar, click Publisher > Templates.
-
On the Templates page, click
on the template you want to modify.
-
In the Sitecore Content Publisher editor, click the Variable Data tab.
-
In the Variable List pane, click
to add a variable. A variable called New Variable appears in the list.
-
Optionally, to edit the new variable settings, click Edit
next to the variable.
-
On the top toolbar of the editor, click Create Frame > Image.
-
On the IMAGE tab, in the Image Settings pane, in the Variable drop-down list, select your variable.
-
On the VARIABLES tab, in the Variable Input pane, next to your variable, click
.
-
In the SELECT IMAGE dialog, click Assets and then double-click your desired asset to select it.
-
On the FRAME tab, in the Frame Location pane, in the Tag field, enter a value, such as Packshot.
-
Click Save.
-
To display the image variable in the template for publication editors, go to the template detail page.
-
On the top-right of the template detail page, click More actions
> Revalidate template
.
-
In the Revalidate template? dialog, click Continue. After the validation process, the image variable shows as a dynamic frame.
To display frames in a publication, they must have a tag. Re-validating a template deletes the previous mappings.
