Add validation conditions

You can add validation conditions that determine when the field validation rules in a content type are checked. Validation rules specified in each content type member are verified when the validation conditions are true. By default, rules are validated when the content lifecycle status is Final.

Warning

We recommend that you leave the default validation condition as Final. Changing the default condition might have unwanted side effects, blocking certain items from moving forward in the flow.

Note

To configure Content Hub, you must either be a superuser or have the necessary permissions granted to you through user group policies.

To add validation conditions:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage cog icon.

  2. On the Manage page, click Content types.

  3. On the Content types page, on the Types tab, next to the content type you want to modify, click More actions > Edit.

  4. On the Validation conditions tab, use the drop-down lists to define a condition for the validation rule. For example, to verify that content is in the final stage of its lifecycle, set Status (ContentLifeCycleToContent) contains all Final as the condition.

  5. Click Save.
