Using the text editor

Sitecore Content Hub includes a text editor with media insertion and collaborative editing functionality, so that you can write text and insert media into your content items.

The following table describes the items available on the editing toolbar.

Note

The first three items (Undo, Redo, and Comment) are available for all text fields. The remaining buttons are only available for rich text fields. A word counter appears beneath the field you are editing if validation rules have been defined on the content type.

Insert asset

Insert a specific asset, either by selecting it from a list or creating a public link. If you insert a public link to a file with an unsupported image file type (such as ai), Content Hub displays the public link instead of rendering the image. The image types supported depend on various factors, such as the Text Editor configuration and the browser you use.

To ensure the image renders, use either the Medium rendition or the Preview rendition of the asset.

Insert external asset

Insert an asset from a supported external DAM platform.

Note

To see this button, you must enable the external asset picker.

Insert media

Insert the URL of a media item (such as YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, and Spotify). This feature is not available unless it has been enabled for your Content Hub instance.

Note

To add the option for embedding media to the rich text editor toolbar, set the MediaEmbed setting for ContentGroups to true .
