Dynamic assignees
In the context of state flows, dynamic assignees are users who are automatically assigned a role when they create or modify an entity or relation that is linked to a state flow. A dynamic assignee group is a group of users who are automatically assigned a task when an entity transitions through a state flow.
Standard dynamic assignee roles are Creator (a person who creates entities in a state flow), or Modifier (a person who modifies entities in a state flow).
You can also create new roles for dynamic assignee users and user groups. To do this, you must create a member group and give it a relevant name. Add a new member to this member group, and ensure that the following values are used:
Field name |
Recommended value |
---|---|
Cardinality |
Many-to-many |
Allow navigation |
True |
When this relation has been created, you can set up a dynamic assignment of user groups.
Email notifications
Email notifications for Work Assigned to Me are sent when assigned users change between states, such as when users are added, removed, or reordered.
If you select Overwrite, a new email notification is only sent if the dynamic assignee changes across state transitions. Notifications are not sent to users who were assigned in the previous state.
Because reordering dynamic assignees is considered a change, maintaining the same order across state transitions helps avoid unnecessary notifications.
