Chart filter

A Chart filter component, when used alongside a Chart component, lets users specify a date range for the chart data. You can configure it to include relevant quick filters, each of which applies a dynamic date range such as the past seven days, six months, or five years.

Chart filter example

By default, charts with a chart filter display data from the past 30 days (for example, if today is May 16th, then the timeframe is April 16 to May 16).

Add a chart filter

To add a chart filter:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage cog icon.

  2. On the Manage page, click Pages.

  3. On the Pages page, select a page that has a Chart component.

  4. On the Layout tab, add a Chart filter component.

  5. Click the component to open its details page. Existing quick filters are shown under the Filters heading.

  6. To add a quick filter, under Add filter, fill in the following fields:

    • Label - a short, descriptive label for the quick filter.

    • Time offset and Period - these define the dynamic period applied by the quick filter. For example, an offset of 5 and a period of Day creates a quick filter that shows data from the past five days.

Existing quick filters are shown under the Filters heading.

  7. Click Save and close.

  8. To preview the chart filter, in the top right of the application window, click View page, select an entity, and then click View page.

Note

Changes to chart filter labels are not saved. Labels cannot be customized.
