Follow-up facets

Follow-up facets let you add extra facets dynamically when a user selects a certain facet value in search, based on entity definitions and their property values.

Tip

It is good practice to use follow-up facets instead of hierarchical taxonomies.

In the following example, the Assets page includes two follow-up facets, which result in an additional filter being available when users filter by the Images asset media type. Here, the follow-up settings are:

Facet 1:

  • Source - Definition

  • Definition - Asset media

  • Value type - Specific value

  • Value name - Images

Facet 2:

  • Target - Property

  • Property - Asset

  • Field - Approved by (ApprovedBy)

  • Value type - Any value

  • Value name - n/a
